This week has been yet again very frustrating! I finally got to talk with my 4H leader, Tara Peila, but it did not go as planned at all... She has a very busy schedule all the time so she was wanting to do my activity plan at our next meeting. For me anyway I know that will not work because I’m going to have to have some teens from different clubs helping out with this. I will have to talk with Tara Andrews at the extension office to see if she will accompany me in my plans because she has done this before and the experience will definitely help me a lot! I plan on getting on our facebook page and posting to see if anyone will be interested in having their kids join in this event! I’m very nervous that no one will want to come or that I won’t find help but I’m sure some of my close friends will pull through! I also need to think about how many activities I want to do so it’s not too little or too much, but I’ll have to see how many kids plan on participating! My action plan is still of...

Howdy, welcome back to yet another week of my Genius Hour:) We are at the half way mark and I’d say I have quite a ways to go in all honesty! This week I was supposed to talk with my 4H leaders and extension office lady, Tara Andrews. However, that did not really get achieved.... My 4H leader was in the Virgin Islands so I could not talk with her about my future plans with this project which strays me from my action plan. I didn’t get to talk with Tara either which also puts me in a deeper hole. This is the first real challenge that I am encountering with this project so far that could put a dent in my growth of this activity.  I am going to try and push harder with getting my big goal achieved and really put my foot down on what needs to get done. My schedule has been jam packed with getting scholarships, school work, chores, and much more done. With that tennis has also started so that takes some more time out of my already full schedule:( I’m excited to see where things wi...

Hello fellow classmates! This week was a filled one! I got my biggest obstacle conquered, which was to speak at my 4H meeting that took place on March 6,2021. We had to get through our whole agenda before I could speak towards the end to get my word out there to the parents and kids. I told them about my plan and what STEAM is and also how I am planning on doing this whole event. The parents really seemed to like it and couldn't wait for more information. I told them I was going to post any further updates on this activity event and was hoping to get some kids signed up for it. My action plan is still up to date which I'm pretty stoked about because I have been so busy with school and life in general.      One big obstacle I think I will be facing in the days to come is when the date of this event will take place. I'm also kind of fearing that no one will want to come to it or I might not find enough help. But one thing I am assured of is that the 4H c...

Welcome back to my third week of my 2nd Genius Hour! This is was challenging because I was very busy and didn’t have a whole lot of time to get things done. However, my goal this week was to look through the activities and find the appropriate ones for certain age groups, which turns out to be easy but hard at the same time. On most of the activities there was age categories in the top corner, for example on easier activities you could tell it’s for younger age groups and it would be labeled on there.  I put in my little booklet or journal type thing different age categories so I can explain to the people I will bring it up to in the next upcoming week how I will accomplish my goal with the correct pathway towards it! I’m very excited to see how this will all turn out and how I’ll be able to provide for the younger generation in agriculture and in general to expand their horizons!  Next week I’ll be speaking at our monthly 4h meeting to discuss what I’m exactly doing and...
